What it is
This unit is supplied as item code H045C/H055C. An outdoor unit bracket is the structural frame that carries a condenser, a heat pump or a mini split outdoor unit onto a wall or a floor. It is not a cosmetic accessory — it carries the weight of the machine for the life of the building, it holds the machine level so the compressor and the fan stay in balance, and it is the part responsible for whether that outdoor unit is quiet for the neighbours.
Two families cover the two placements. Wall brackets on galvanized steel carry the unit off the face of a wall, and are selected by the weight of the machine they hold. Ground supports carry the unit on a base or a pad, and are rated in kilograms, which is the only meaningful way to specify them because a heat pump on a roof or a balcony can be several times the weight of the indoor unit it serves.
Stainless 304 is the upgrade that pays for itself on any installation within sight of the sea or on a building where the wall is a feature that must not be stained by rust bleeding down it. Galvanized is the standard for ordinary residential and light commercial work.
Technical specification
How to choose the right one
- Specify by the weight of the outdoor unit, not by its size. A machine with a large cabinet is often not the heaviest one on the market — the tonnage and the compressor type decide the load.
- Leave room for service clearance between the unit and the wall; a bracket that puts the coil against the wall is a bracket that will be condemned at the first service visit.
- Use 304 stainless on coastal sites, on buildings near a swimming pool, and anywhere the galvanized coating is going to be scratched during installation. Zinc on a scratched edge is a rust stain inside two winters.
- For ground or rooftop placement, select the support by its rated load in kilograms and add a margin for wind uplift on an exposed position.
- Check the wallfixing substrate — a bracket into a light-weight block or a timber frame is a fixing question, and we will quote the correct anchors separately if you tell us the wall.
Material and finish options
| Material | Finish | Typical use |
|---|
| Galvanized steel | Zinc plating | Ordinary residential and light commercial |
| Stainless steel 304 | Mill finish | Coastal, pool side, exposed facades |
| Powder coated galvanized | Zinc + powder coat | Architectural facades, visible installations |
| Rubber isolator feet | Black rubber | Noise-critical installations |
Installation
- 1
Fix the bracket to the structure with the fixings the substrate needs, and check the bracket is level before the unit goes on it.
- 2
Take the outdoor unit off its pallet and lift it onto the bracket with two people, or use a suction lift for a heavy machine.
- 3
Level the unit in both directions and fit the isolating pads or rubber feet where the specification calls for them.
- 4
Leave the service clearance at the back and the sides, and check the condensate and refrigerant lines can be bent without strain.
- 5
Check the fixings and the bracket again after the first heating or cooling season — an outdoor bracket in weather moves, and a bracket that was tight at handover is not always tight after five winters.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know which bracket fits my unit?
By the outdoor unit weight and the fixing hole pattern. Send the model or the hole centres and we will confirm the bracket rather than ask you to guess.
Galvanized or stainless?
Galvanized for inland residential work. Stainless 304 for coastal, poolside, and any installation where rust bleeding down the wall matters. The cost difference is small against the replacement cost.
What load rating do I need for a ground support?
The rated load in kilograms must exceed the unit weight with a margin — on an exposed rooftop or an open yard position add for wind uplift. Send the unit weight and the placement and we will confirm the rating.
Can the brackets be powder coated in a colour?
Yes — powder coating over galvanized is available and can be matched to a facade colour for visible installations.
Do you make brackets for unusual units?
Yes, non-standard hole patterns and lengths are produced to order. Send a drawing or the unit dimensions and we will quote; new tooling starts before first production.
